Measuring your child

Measuring your child.

It is important to check your childs measurements prior to ordering, Children are all different shapes and sizes. Thats the brilliant thing from buying from a WAHM, custom made for the perfect fit.

Nappy covers

Soakers, longies and shorties - Several measurements needed for these to ensure the best fit.

The rise - This is the measurement around the nappy take it from where you would like the cover to sit to the same point on the back. It is best if you take this measurement over the bulkyest nappy you wish your child to wear.

The waist - Pass the tape around your childs tummy, above where the nappy will sit.

The thigh - Measure around the widest part of the leg.

Inseam - this only applies to shorts and longies, take this measurement with the nappy on, please also state it you would like extra growing room. As standard my longies have a 2" turn up to allow for growth.

Clothing.

For hats - Measure around the head and pick the closest size to your measurement. It is better to size up than to size down.

For tops, picky pull over, easy peasy cardigan and apron top - All that is needed is the chest measurement.

For Dresses - Please measure the chest, will also need your ideal length for the dress, measure from the nap of the neck to the place you would like the dress to finish.

For bootees and slippers - I find the best way to measure this is to get your child to stand on a piece of paper and draw a line across the top of the toes and at the back of the heal. Where slippers are concerned it is better to size down rather than up, please see relevant section for more details on slippers. (Section to be added shortly)

Final notes.

I do not charge to add extra rise or length to the garment.
